The Ferriters

Van Walker is a prolific Tasmanian singer-songwriter in the genres of folk, country and rock, a 'cult figure' in his adopted home of Victoria. He is known for his distinctive gravely voice and finger style guitar playing, his poetic lyrics that explore a range of personal and social themes, and has been praised for his ability to tell compelling political and/or personal stories through his music and songs. In addition to his work as a musician, Van has also collaborated with other artists and worked as a producer and co-writer, fronting groups such as Livingstone Daisies & Hexham Heads, as well as writing and performing as a member of the critically acclaimed Vandemonian Lags stage production with a cast including Mick Thomas, Liz Stringer, Brian Nankervis, Tim Rogers & more.
